ROME, Ga. --- The Asbury men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Rome, Ga. for their season opener against Berry College on Saturday evening. Despite falling in doubles, the women went on to sweep in singles against the Vikings, giving them their first win of the season, 6-3. The men were unable to find momentum and slipped to Berry 8-1.
After tough losses from doubles, the women rallied back and swept Berry on the singles side.

Fernanda Heredia,
Kourtney Kawata, and
Malory Watkins all picked up wins against the Vikings.
The lone victory from the men's side came from freshmen
Ben Moore and
Andres Caceres in the #2 doubles match (8-3).
Ignacio Murillo battled in his singles match, taking his opponent to three sets, but ultimately falling 6-2, 6-4, 11-13.

* Ben Moore & Andres Caceres (AU) def Drayton Madus & Bohdan Higley (BC) 8-3

Men's tennis will head to Centre College on March 6th to take on the Colonels at 4 PM and the women will head to Brevard, Nc. to see Brevard College on March 8th at 1 PM.
