
WILMORE, Ky.--- In a Collegiate Conference of the South battle in Wilmore, the AU women's soccer team (4-3-3) faced a narrow defeat against Covenant College (7-3-0), closing with a final score of 1-0. Despite a strong defensive performance from both teams leading to a goalless first half, the Eagles could not secure a win in their second conference match of the season.
The game's decisive moment arrived in the 58th minute when Rachel Wall of Covenant broke the deadlock, scoring the match's lone goal. This goal proved to be the game-winner for the Scots.
Asbury goalie Violette Moore put up a outstanding performance, but it was Bronwyn Kickasola from Covenant who clinched a shutout, giving the Scots the one goal victory.
The Asbury Eagles are now preparing to face LaGrange College on Thursday at 4 PM, in LaGrange, GA.
The team currently holds a record of 4-4-3 overall, with a 1-1-0 in the conference. The Eagles are looking forward to this upcoming match to bounce back and improve their standing in the conference.
