Eagles Overcome First Half Deficit; Score Three In Second Half to Take Second Conference Win

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
LAGRANGE, Ga.---In a CCS soccer showdown on Thursday afternoon, the Asbury women's soccer team (5-4-3), showcased a impressive comeback to claim a 3-1 victory over the LaGrange Panthers (4-6-3) in a critical conference event held at Panther Field. Despite trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Eagles turned the game around to secure a win that bolsters their conference record to 2-1-0 and overall to 5-4-3 this season.

The Panthers took the early lead, putting the Eagles behind at the break. However, the determination of Asbury University's players shone in the second half. Key performances from Hannah Muncie, Maggie Perry, and Madie Boehnlein, who scored the game-winning goal at 69:45, propelled the Eagles to a decisive comeback. Each scored one goal and recorded vital points for the team.

Violette Moore was in goal for the Eagles today, managing two crucial saves, and highlighted a strong defensive effort despite the early goal against.

Boehnlein's timely goal, termed the game-winner, carried significant weight, coming in well-positioned to capitalize during a pivotal moment in the game. Additionally, players like Deidra Long and Anna Sparks played integral roles by maintaining offensive pressure, contributing several shots that helped shift the game's momentum in favor of the Eagles.

With this victory, the Asbury is next set to face another conference foe, Huntingdon College on Saturday, October 12th at 2 PM EST.

AU will aim to sweep the road trip this weekend and strengthen their standings in the conference.

STORY - QUOTE
Today was definitely a team effort. We brought the energy and really played for each other. Rallying together in the second half and getting the comeback win in a conference game was huge. Always awesome to get a road win, and can't wait to go back out again on Saturday!
