WILMORE, Ky.--- In a night that the women's soccer program honored five seniors, Asbury (7-5-5, 4-2-2) defeated Weslyean College (0-11-0, 0-8-0) 9-0 as graduate student Caroline Preston recorded a hat trick. Seniors Violette Moore, Maliya Crump, Deidra Long, Mary Tidei, and Reese Bolton were recognized pre-game for their contributions to AU women's soccer.

The offensive prowess was highlighted by Caroline Absher, who scored a remarkable hat trick early in the game, setting the tone for what was an unforgettable performance. Peighton Sowder, who opened the scoring, also marked the game with the first goal, effectively sealing the game from the outset. Hannah Muncie, Eva De Sousa, Madie Boehnlein, who netted twice, and Cate VanMeter also contributed to the impressive tally, ensuring the Wolves never found their footing.

Assists were plentiful, showcasing a strong team dynamic, with contributions from Deidra Long, Hannah Muncie, Maria Eagle, Madie Boehnlein, Maggie Higdon, and Sydney Breeze, each setting up critical plays that led to goals. Goalkeeping duties were split between Maliya Crump and Violette Moore, who together kept a clean sheet, further solidifying the Eagles' defensive strength.

With this victory, the Eagles clinch the five seed in the CCS Tournament.

AU will look forward to carrying this momentum into the CCS Conference Tournament as the team will travel to fourth seeded Covenant College on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Lookout Mountain, GA for the quarterfinal matchup.
