WILMORE, Ky.--- In an hard-fought NCCAA match up on Tuesday night, the Asbury men's soccer team (8-4-3, 3-2-0) clashed with the Oakland City Mighty Oaks (8-3-4, 5-0-1), ending in a 0-0 tie at the Asbury Soccer Field in Wilmore. Despite numerous attempts from both sides, neither team could find the back of the net, thanks to stellar performances from the goalies.
The game's first half saw several impressive saves by Asbury's goalkeeper
Peyton French and his counterpart from Oakland City, keeping the halftime score at a deadlock of 0-0. The defensive struggle continued well into the second half, with neither side managing to capitalize on their opportunities.
French, in particular, garnered additional recognition for his crucial role in securing the shutout by saving seven shots over the course of the game. This draw brings Asbury's record to 8-4-3 overall, with a conference tally of 3-2-0.
Looking ahead, the Eagles will remain on their home turf at the Asbury Soccer Field for their next contest against Huntingdon College at 2 PM on Saturday. AU will honor 14 seniors before the game. The Senior Day festivities will begin around 30 minutes prior to kick-off.
