Asbury Named NCCAA #KingChasing Institution of the Year

GREENVILLE, SC. --- The National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) recently named Asbury University the NCCAA #KingChasing Institution of the Year. Asbury VP for Intercollegiate Athletics & University Communications Mark Whitworth, and Men's Basketball Head Coach Will Shouse received the award on behalf of Asbury at the Annual NCCAA Convention. 

NCCAA member institutions have the opportunity to be named an NCCAA #KingChasing Institution on an annual basis. Earning this title showcases the institution's commitment to integrating Christ within its athletic department. The top point-earning institutions are named finalists for the NCCAA #KingChasing Institution of the Year.

The NCCAA #KingChasing program uses the four values of the Game Plan 4 LIFE – Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence – to enhance the purpose of collegiate athletics to be more than winning championships. The mission of the #KingChasing program is to keep Christ at the center of the student-athlete experience.
  
The #KingChasing Standards are foundational elements that Asbury Athletics strives to pursue and uphold to give glory to God through the platform of collegiate athletics. Asbury is humbled an honored to be a member of an organization like the NCCAA that continually equips and encourages institutions to be made up of these four essential values (Love, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence).

Seven NCCAA institutions were named finalists for the #KingChasing Institution of the Year Award including Grace College, Houghton University, Manhattan Christian College, Mid-American Christian University, Oak Hills Christian College, Regent University, and Asbury University. 

The NCCAA named Asbury University Athletics the 2023 #KingChasing Institution of the Year after earning the top amount of points throughout the 2022-23 school year.
