Asbury Streak Snapped; Drops Match with Centre

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
DANVILLE, Ky. --- After winning their last two matches by one point, Asbury women's tennis fell on Wednesday night to Centre College in Danville, Ky., 1-8.

Freshman Fernanda Heredia highlighted the day for AU, winning the No. 5 singles match over Kayla Harger, 6-3, 6-0. Heredia has produced a strong freshman season at Asbury after transferring in from Bluefield State.

Centre set the tone of the match with a clean sweep of doubles, winning the key No. 1 doubles match over Ariadna Zegarra and Megan Moore, 8-5. Asbury freshman Zegarra was injured in the match and was not able to complete her No. 1 singles competition, conceding the win to Centre.

Megan Moore battled in the No. 2 singles match, taking Centre to a tiebreak before falling 4-10. Olivia Rogowski was edged in both of her sets in the No. 6 singles match, 5-7 and 3-6.

Asbury's winning streak stops at two after Centre used their impressive depth to take the win on their home court.
