LEXINGTON, KY. --- Asbury Women's tennis picked up a win against shorthanded Earlham College, winning 7-2.
The Eagles put on a solid performance on Saturday,
Megan Moore and
Mikaela West started off slow in the No. 1 doubles match, falling back to a 2-6 deficit. They quickly caught stride and battled back, winning three sets in a row, but ultimately dropped the match (8-5). On the second court,
Olivia Rogowski and
Fernanda Heredia dominated the No.2 match, winning 8-0. The third match was given to Asbury by default, as Earlham traveled with an insufficient roster.
In singles play, Asbury won five out of the six matchups. West, Rogowski, and Mansfield all shined, with none of them conceding more than three games. Heredia won her first set 6-0 before her opponent had to retire due to injury. Again, the final singles match was defaulted to the Eagles.
