LOUISVILLE, Ky.--- Asbury freshman
Cayden Lancaster scored a career-high 15 points off five threes on Thursday night in Louisville, Ky., but the Eagles (8-5) fell to a Simmons College late-game comeback, 68-70.
AU scored 41 points in the first half on eight threes, but only 27 in the second while Simmons scored 20 points in the final nine minutes to take the win.
"Simmons did a great job pressuring us down the stretch and forcing us into turnovers we don't normally make. That's a really good program that beat a NAIA national championship team to start the season. There was a lot of good that came from the game. We shot the ball really well. We were up as much as 10 in the 2nd half and had young guys step up and show how deep we can be as the year goes on."
