LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.--- In their second match-up in Lookout Mountain, Ga., senior
Caleb Wallis hit a buzzer-beating three to take down Covenant (3-4) and give Asbury (6-0) their sixth straight victory in a 68-66 match. Wallis set numerous career and season highs, with his most notable being his 31 points against the Scots.
* Caleb Wallis set three season highs with 31 points, seven three's, and nine baskets made in the field
* Despite only scoring three points in the first, Wallis quickly rebounded and went on to score 28 in the second
* Dakota Walden grabbed his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds
* Clayton Winter was a force under the rim, picking up 15 boards and six points
* Freshman Cayden Lancaster added eight points and two big first half three's off the bench
* The Scots Jonathan Gernatt had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds

* This was the sixth time the two schools have now met, AU leading the series 4-2
* The two schools will meet as conference opponents next year when Asbury become member (July 1)
* AU now carries a six game win streak into Christmas break
"We talked after yesterday's game about 40 minutes of effort and focus and it paid off for us today. We didn't give up and just stayed the course in a very tough environment to play in. Our staff is extremely proud of our "next play" mentality throughout the entire game."

* There were a toal of six lead changes in the game
* AU shot 34% from the field while also garnering 34% from the 3PT line
* The Eagles collected 16 points in the paint, 11 points off turnover, and 10 second chance points
* The AU defense held the Scots to 40% from the field and 31% from the 3PT line
* Asbury only committed 9 turnovers on the day
* AU was able to out-rebound Covenant 40-37, led by
Clayton Winter (15) and
Dakota Walden (12)

Caleb Wallis poured in 28 points and six threes in the second half, with 20 points coming in the last nine minutes of the game
* Covenant began the game on 16-5 run and held that lead with 11:21 in the first
* Back to back threes from freshman
Cayden Lancaster helped cut into the Scots lead taking the halftime score to 37-30
* AU opened the half on a 7-2 run to take the Covenant lead to just two (39-37) with 16:00 remaining
* The Eagles trailed 66-65 with 4.7 seconds left, with the Scots at the free throw line shooting a one & one
* Covenant missed the front end and
Caleb Wallis was able to convert a buzzer beater from three to help give AU a 68-66 win
