Lexington Clinic Student-Athletes of the Week
WILMORE, Ky. --- Senior
Trinity Shearer (Women's Basketball) and junior
Ben McNew (Men's Basketball) have been named the Asbury University Athletes of the Week presented by the Lexington Clinic Orthopedics-Sports Medicine Center.
Trinity Shearer | Women's Basketball
Trinity Shearer is a senior from Crab Orchard, Ky., who is pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.
Shearer averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals over two games this week.
She leads the team on the season in points per game (10.9) and steals per game (3.7).
"Trin is an amazing player and leader! Her four years here at AU have been marked by great success and individual achievements. What really makes her special is the fact that she is focused on her team and her teammates. She does whatever it takes to win. Trin is another example in a long line of talented players we have had here in our program that exemplifies what we are about, excellence and leadership."

Ben McNew | Men's Basketball
Ben McNew is a junior from Nicholasville, Ky., and is pursuing a degree in Sport Management.
McNew over two games this weekend averaged 20 points, while going 9-18 from 3 PT.
He scored a season-high 21 points against Champion Christian on Saturday and added two blocks and steals.
