LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.--- Ben McNew's 13 points in the second aided AU's defeat of Johnson University (FL) for their fifth straight win on Friday afternoon in Lookout Mountain, Ga. Despite a 21-5 run by the Suns, late in the second, AU managed to hold onto their lead for the entire match and secured an 83-76 victory over Johnson. 


* Ben McNew recorded four season-highs with 21 points on 8-17 from the field, four rebounds, one block, and one steal
* Clayton Winter also recorded four season-highs with 20 points on 8-12 from the field, nine rebounds, six FT's made, and one block
* Caleb Wallis picked up 15 points from 7-11 from the field and two boards
* Aden Slone had a season-high with seven assists and recorded nine points
* Akmee Burton scored 20 for the Suns, shooting 9-15 from the field
* The Suns went on a 21-5 run in the last eight minutes of the second


* Ben McNew is averaging 41% from the field and 92% from the line, averaging 14.2 points per game
* Clayton Winter is averaging 58% from the field and 75% from the line, averaging 16.2 points per game
* Caleb Wallis leads the team with 88 points in five games, averaging 17.6 points per game. 
* Aden Slone has 26 assists and 19 boards in his first five games at AU
* Winter sits at No. 10 in the NCCAA for rebounds, averaging 8.2 per game
* Slone sits at No. 6 in the NCCAA for assists, averaging 5.2 per game. Slone also is perfect on the line this year, going 13-13, tied for the No. 1 spot in the NCCAA. 


"There were moments in today's game that we were really happy with how we played and the adjustments we made. We have to do a much better job of putting together a full 40-minute game. And that starts with our focus. Hopefully, we can get that tomorrow against a really good Covenant game.
