Asbury women's basketball (9-7) will face RV/#18 Emory University (7-1) Tuesday afternoon at 2 pm on Emory's home court in Atlanta, Ga. The matchup will be the two NCAA Division III program's first ever meeting.
Asbury is coming off a convincing 71-40 win over Covenant College on Saturday afternoon in Wilmore, Ky. AU was led in the game by sophomore
Haleigh Releford with 14 points, four steals, and three rebounds.
Asbury put together one of their strongest offense games of the season against Covenant with 11 made threes and only 8 turnovers. AU has now won three of their last four and will look to continue this momentum with their first contest in 2023.
The #18 ranked Emory University Eagles are 7-1 to start their season, and 4-1 on their home court. The Eagles have won three in a row, coming off an upset win over #11 Tufts on December 3rd.
Emory is led in scoring by Clair Brock, averaging 22.9 points per game. Brock also averages 7.3 rebounds per game. Asbury has been led in scoring by
Haleigh Releford with 13.4 points per game and
Trinity Shearer with 12.7 per game.
