ANDERSON, In. --- For the first time in program history, the Asbury Women's Soccer team took on Anderson University this evening at 5 pm. The Eagles hit the road this morning and traveled to Raven turf in Anderson, In. Despite the Eagles' hard fight throughout the match, the Ravens took control of the game and sealed the competition with a 5-0 victory.
The Ravens set the tone for the game, scoring after only 3:30 minutes of play, followed by a second goal 14 minutes after. This totaled all of the goals scored in the first half, setting the halftime score at 0-2 Anderson.
The Eagles fought hard in the second half, getting 8 shots off, compared to their 3 shots in the first half. TeamAU made a strong effort at goal but were unable to find the back of the net past Anderson's goalkeeper, junior Emmalee Paarlberg.
Anderson added 3 additional goals in the second half, making the final score 0-5.
From a defensive standpoint, Asbury's goalkeeper,
Maliya Crump, played the full 90 minutes and was able to rack up 8 total saves.

Asbury will continue to travel North for yet another match on Saturday, September 17th against Mount St. Joseph. The Eagles will head to Cincinnati, Oh., and the teams will kickoff at 7 pm.
