
NORTH MANCHESTER, In. --- Asbury women's soccer traveled to North Manchester, IN on Saturday to take on the Manchester University Spartans. Despite a close match for the full 90 minutes, AU was unable to find the net and fell 0-1.
The first ever matchup between these two division III teams was close all throughout. Neither team saw a goal in the first half of the match, but Asbury got off 2 shots compared to Manchester's 4 in the half.
Early in the second half Manchester found the only goal for either team on the day, scored by Abby McLaughlin at the 48 minute mark. AU continued to pursue goal throughout the rest of the second half, putting up 3 more shots in the half. Manchester's defense prevailed and was able to hold AU without scoring a goal in the game, taking the 1-0 victory.
