Eagles fall on the road to Earlham in Season Opener

Richmond, In. –- The Asbury Men's Soccer team took on Earlham College in Richmond, IN this evening for their season opener. This is the first time in program history that the Eagles faced the Earlham Quakers. The Eagles were able to keep a close game with the Quakers until the 70
th minute, resulting in a 3-2 loss.

Earlham and Asbury went goal-for-goal for 70 minutes until Earlham took the lead in the 71
st minute. Although a tough game, the Eagles were still able to rack up two goals, and many freshmen were able to make their first college appearances.

Micah Schneider and
Bryan Ortiz were both able to tally their first goals of the season.
Bryan Ortiz scored in the 15
th minute with a bicycle kick off of a corner by
Micah Schneider.
Micah Schneider racked his first goal of the season with an assist by
Sammy Abraham. Many freshmen including
Luke Thomas,
Mario Fuentes,
Jon Gordon, and
Matias Mussegaard made their first college appearances this evening as well. The Eagles produced 20 shots, with 8 of them being on goal.
