MOBILE, Al. --- Both Asbury tennis teams concluded their successful regular season today, falling in the NCCAA National Tournament. The women's team matched up with Oakland City (River States Conference Tournament runner-up), and dropped the match 1-4. The men's team dropped their match to the number 1 seed in the tournament, Grace College. 

The women were barely edged out of a doubles point as Giovana Kelm and Luciana Iriarte took the the victory over Oakland City at No. 1 doubles. Despite AU taking this match and Kourtney Kawata and Mary Grace Narrow playing a tight match, the other two doubles competitions went to Grace and they grabbed the point.

Luciana Iriarte provided the singles point for AU as she defeated Oakland City 6-3, 6-4. Giovana Kelm was also leading here singles match at 6-2, 5-4, but the match was cut short due to Oakland City reaching 4 points. 

The men's team faced the reigning NCCAA national champions in Grace College who had not lost a point the entire tournament. AU's Joseph Lewis and Rodrigo Cavero played a very close match with the No. 1 doubles team of Grace, just falling short 5-7. Tanner Sparks and Luiz Hartkopf also played a strong doubles competition with Grace, just trailing the match 5-6 before it was called short due to Grace taking the doubles point. Joseph put together a strong showing in singles for AU, leading the No. 2 match 7-5, 4-3 before it was called short due to Grace securing the victory. 

Neither team will move on to the championship round of the NCCAA Championship which concludes their season. Men's tennis finishes the season with a strong 12-7 record and the women finish at 8-7.
