
BEREA, Ky. --- The Asbury baseball team met up with Berea College on Wednesday night for a midweek contest. The hot Asbury offense kept things rolling as they notched 11 runs to defeat Berea, 11-1.Â
Holten Handel got the ball to start for AU providing 3.0 innings of scoreless work, receiving his 4th win of the season. Noah Brown came on next out of the pen to go 2.0 innings only allowing 1 run, striking out 4 of his 6 outs. Caleb Poll, Bryce Barber, David Savastio and Cameron Crick all gave 1 inning of work to hold Berea to only 1 run in the game.Â
AU got on the board first in the second inning when Tyler Hewlett collected a two-out knock to score Kaden Dugle. It was with two outs again in the third when AU received an RBI single from Ethan Cartwright and then an RBI double from Kaden Dugle to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
A Walker Paris leadoff double in the fifth led to another AU run, and 2 more were added in the seventh to extend the Asbury lead to 6-1. Ethan Cartwright hit a solo home run in the seventh, this marks his fourth in as many games.
Asbury added 5 more runs in the final 2 innings of the game to secure the victory over Berea, 11-1. This win is the 19th of the season for Asbury and their 4th win in a row.Â

Asbury will host Wright State Lake Campus in Wilmore, Ky this weekend for a three-game series, the first game will be Friday at 3 PM
