WILMORE, Ky. -- This month's #TeamAU Alumni Feature, presented by KEMI (Kentucky Employers' Mutual Insurance), highlights a former Asbury student-athlete, Lindsay Keyser class of 2011.
What was your major and what sport did you play?
I was a Communications major and a mid-distance/distance swimmer on the Swimming Team from 2007-2011.
How did God use Asbury to impact your life?
God used Asbury to impact my life is many ways. Because of Asbury, I met my hus-band, Alex, and we now have two AMAZING little girls, Emma and Adelyn. I also made lifelong friends who I'm so grateful for.
My swim coaches, Gary & Dorothy Kempf were probably the most essential to my growth during my time at Asbury. While obviously we attend college for academics first & foremost, the lessons I learned through my time on the swim team proved to be most integral to who I am today. Over four years on the team, Gary & Dorothy constantly challenged me to my potential, fostered my ability to lead and pointed me towards Christ. I often look back at the character, discipline and focus that was instilled through-out my life from swimming and see how that has shaped who I am today.
What is your favorite Bible verse?
Really all of Revelations, but just a couple verses would be: Rev. 5:12-13, Rev. 19:11-16, Rev. 21: 1-8
What is your current occupation?
Director of Operations at Quelliv
What is your favorite Asbury athletics memory?
Gosh, there are too many to count. Some of my favorite memories are from our travel trips over Christmas break, winning conference for the girls team all 4 years, or from Nationals each year. But I'd probably have to say my most favorite memory was my last mile at Nationals my senior year. Ending my swimming career of 18 years with my family and some of the people I loved the most was really special and something I'll always remember.
