WILMORE, Ky. -- The Asbury University softball team won its Friday afternoon doubleheader at home against Miami University (Hamilton).
The Eagles won game one 4-3 in extra innings and took game two 8-0. Asbury improves to 6-7 on the year with the victories.
AU will hit the road to Hanover, Indiana, to play against Hanover College on Tuesday in a doubleheader.
Game one
*SophooreTaylor Enlow got the job done in the circle, pitching a complete game as she allowed only ten hits throughout the game and had a strikeout.
*The Eagles knocked in a run in the bottom half of the first after a pitcher error.
*Asbury would extend their lead out to 4-2 after scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth as Kaitlyn Wilson RBI groundout scored Brynna Reynolds.
*The Eagles would put the game away in the ninth inning. Taylor Enlow's RBI single would bring home Olivia Palasek for the win.
*Asbury collected ten hits as a team in the win, with Olivia Palasek leading the way with a 2-2 effort at the plate. Enlow led the team with two RBI.
Game two
*The Eagles got off to another great start with two runs in the first.
*With a 2-0 lead, Taylor Sanders ground out RBI would bring home Kaitlyn Wilson to score to put the Eagles in the lead with a 3-0 advantage.
*McKenzie Meyer would start on the mound and complete the game with six innings. The senior struck out three and allowed only three hits.
* Enlow's 2 RBI homerun would bring Jenni Beasley to score, in the fourth inning, keeping the Eagles ahead 5-0.
* The scoring continued with a two-RBI from Sanders and an RBI single for Enlow in the final inning.
*The Eagles would put the game away in the sixth with three runs on six hits.
*Asbury collected 15 hits as a team in the win, with Enlow leading the way. Enlow and Sanders led the Eagles in RBI.
