The Asbury women's basketball (6-5) team is set to begin a four-game road trip as they battle Midway University (6-5) Friday night at 5:30 pm. These two previous conference foes have met 35 times since 2006, Midway leading the rivalry with 20 wins compared to Asbury's 15. 

With no matchup last season between the two programs, the last two meetings came in the 2020-21 season with both taken by Midway. Asbury last defeated Midway in the 2019-2020 season in the Luce Center on February 18th, 2020. 

Asbury is coming off their toughest matchup of the season as they hosted #3 in the NAIA Campbellsville University on Tuesday evening. AU fell to the highly ranked Tigers for their fifth loss, but were led by junior Trinity Shearer who scored 15 points and grabbed three steals. 

Shearer leads Asbury in steals with 21 so far after finishing last season with 71, the second most in a season ever at Asbury. Sophomore guard Haleigh Releford leads AU in scoring with 13.3 points per game and a team-high 15 made threes. 

Midway has won their last four games and are coming off a 30-point victory over Campbellsville-Harrodsburg on Wednesday night at home. Midway currently sits at 4-1 in River States Conference play, putting them at second in the RSC West division behind 5-0 Oakland City. Dezeree White, a senior guard for Midway leads the team in scoring with 17.1 points per game.
