Asbury vs. Campbellsville | 12/13/22 | 6 PM | Asbury Luce Center
The Asbury women's basketball team (6-4) will host Campbellsville University (9-0, #3 NAIA) tonight at 6 pm in the Luce Center. These two powerful programs met last season on Campbellsville's home court, CU taking the 81-67 win. The teams were tied at the end of the first quarter, but CU took the second and third quarters to pull away and secure their win over Asbury.
Asbury is coming off a convincing 79-56 win over Sewanee last Tuesday night where the Eagles ended the first quarter up 26-8. The relentless AU defense produced double-digit steals for sixth time out of ten games. The Eagles received a key lift from Lexington Clinic Asbury Female Athlete of the week
Abby Harris, scoring a career-high 11 points and grabbing three steals. Asbury has won six of their last eight and are ready to host the #3 team in the NAIA on their home court.
Campbellsville is undefeated so far this season, only allowing an opponent to finish within single-digits of them once which was Saturday as they beat Georgetown 71-64. CU is led in scoring by their junior forward Kaitlynn Wilks, averaging 15.6 points per game. The Tigers have a total of five players averaging double-digit points.
