WILMORE, Ky. --- Today's gameday matchup previews are below:

Asbury vs. Covenant College | 11/8/22 | 7 PM | Men's Basketball

Asbury men's basketball will begin their 2022-23 campaign tonight as they host a strong competitor in Covenant College. Asbury is coming off a 16-12 season led by NCCAA Mideast Region Player of the Year, Nick Fort. Fort will look to lead the Eagles once again as he returns for his graduate season after averaging a double-double last year. Senior guard, Dakota Walden will also be key for AU leading the offense at point guard after a junior season averaging 10.3 points a game. 

Over the past four meetings this Asbury and Covenant matchup has turned into a high level contest as Asbury took both games in 2020, but Covenant took both games last season in 2021. Both games last season were on the road in Lookout Mountain, Ga., as Asbury will be eager to meet Covenant on their home court in Wilmore, Ky. Covenant is coming off a 18-7 season where they were 6-3 on the road. 

This game will tip-off at 7 pm in the Asbury Luce Center to begin Asbury's season.

Asbury at Alice Lloyd College | 11/8/22 | 5:30 PM | Women's Basketball

Head Coach Chad Mayes begins his fifth year at the helm of Asbury women's basketball with a road matchup at Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Ky. Asbury is 56-22 in their last four seasons led by Mayes and are prepared for a strong 2022-23 season. Asbury has strong returners like senior guard Jaclynn Ruble and junior guard Trinity Shearer. 

Since the 2005-2006 season Asbury and Alice Lloyd have went back in forth in head-to-head matchups, Asbury barely leading the way with 18 wins compared to ALC's 17. Asbury has won the last four meetings since 2020, defeating ALC most recently in Pippa Passes on 1/30/21, 90-64. 

This game will begin at 5:30 pm as Asbury will seek a season opening road win for their fifth consecutive win over Alice Lloyd.
