
WILMORE, Ky.--- Erin Sexauer posted a season-high 13 kills tonight as the Asbury volleyball team fell on the road to Maryville College in Maryville, Tn., 0-3.
Asbury finished the match with 28 kills as a team, led by Sexauer with 13 and Emma Grace Gray with 9. The Eagles hit their best percentage of the night in the second set at .118, but were held off by a strong Maryville defense.
Riley McChord led AU in digs with 13, making her 11th game of her freshman season with double-digit digs. Lucy Kate Gray produced 23 assists in the match to lead Asbury.
Set One
Maryville started the night off strong, continuing their momentum from their previous two sweeps, taking an early 8-2 lead over Asbury. The Eagles attempted to battle back with a three point swing that was led by Erin Sexauer, but the Scots offense proved to be too much as they took the first set 25-9.
Set Two
The second set was Asbury's best of the night, as they started it off taking a 4-0 lead. Maryville answered right back with four points of their own to even the set at 4-4. The set went back and forth throughout, Asbury being led by Erin Sexauer who scored three consecutive kills at one point. The two teams found another tie at 15-15, followed by Maryville taking a six point run that was too much for Asbury to recover from. Maryville took the second set, 25-18.
Set Three
The third was close again in the early points, Asbury continuing to be led by their start of the night Erin Sexauer with 5 kills in Asbury's first ten points. Maryville left the 10-10 tie by scoring eight of the next ten points to take a commanding 18-12 lead over Asbury. Maryville went on to take the third and final set, 25-16.

Asbury will return home for their next match on Tuesday, October 18 at 6 pm against Covenant College.
