Men's Basketball Falls In Road Matchup To Campbellsville-Harrodsburg



WILMORE, Ky. — Asbury Men's Basketball traveled to Harrodsburg, KY on Wednesday night to take on Campbellsville University Harrodsburg. AU came into this matchup looking to win their sixth out of their last eight, as they have been playing very solid basketball as of late. The Eagles met a CU-Harrodsburg team that was ready to play from the jump and would lead the Eagles 44-38 at the half. 

AU would battle back in the 2nd half to eventually take a 66-60 lead over CU-Harrodsburg with 10 minutes to go in the game. This lead was built by a strong 7-0 Asbury run that included 5 points from Junior Eric Powell.

CU-Harrodsburg would recover from this AU run and eventually regain the lead to not give it back. A late 7-0 run from CU-Harrodsburg would be enough to allow them to hold onto the victory in this back and forth fight, 94-86. 
 

* Nick Fort led the Eagles in scoring with 23, and tallied a dominant 18 rebounds to secure the double-double. Fort is now averaging a powerful 20 and 11 double-double on the season for AU. 

* Dakota Walden had an incredible night scoring 21 on 9-15 shooting while adding 6 rebounds and 4 assists

* Eric Powell added 21 to the Eagles, knocking down an impressive 8-10 FT

* Kereion Douglas for CU-Harrodsburg was a difference on the night going 6-6 from 3, scoring 24 overall

 

* Asbury totaled 29 2nd chance points compared to CU-Harrodsburg's 9

* CU-Harrodsburg shot the ball extremely well, going 11-23 from three

* AU outrebounded CU-Harrodsburg 41 to 35

* Kereion Douglas for CU-Harrodsburg going 6-6 from distance

 

AU will look to bounce back as they go on the road again, this time matching up with Miami University Middletown on Saturday at 3 PM.
