WILMORE, Ky.- The Asbury University women's soccer team had aggressively fought a 6-1 fall at home on Saturday evening to Division II team, Kentucky Wesleyan University.
With Asbury recently making a major switch to NCAA Division III starting the 2021-22 season, the Eagles engaged in a back-and-forth battle versus a competition step-up with (4-1-0) KWU.
The DII athletes, Chloe Hinchcliffe and assist by Shelby Taylor, scored the traveling team's sixth and final goal in the 81st minute with a close, in-box tap into goal.
Asbury's Division III Eagle, Sr. Janelle Suvimolstean, scored the lone goal halfway through the second period, although most close-call shots on goal occurred during period, totaling nine throughout the game.
AU goalie, freshman Maliya Crump led the team's aggressiveness with twelve saves.Â
The team continues the 2021-22 season with the current record of (1-3-0)
The Eagles are back on the road at Transylvania on Wednesday, September 15th.Â
