WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Asbury University volleyball team fell in straight sets on Wednesday evening in its season opener at Cumberlands.
The Eagles fell 25-9, 25-11, 25-11 to drop to 0-1 to begin the year.
Asbury returns to play on Friday at Lindsey Wilson.
UC finished the match with a .383 hitting percentage and recorded 37 total kills, while AU was held to only 16 successful kill attempts.
The Patriots also totaled 12 service aces and five blocks.
The Eagles were led by
Bethany Fye in kills and blocks for the contest.
Sydney Fleshood led Asbury with 10 digs, while
Rilee O'Day notched seven assists and digs each.
