WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University softball team split its Saturday doubleheader at home against Oakland City in River States Conference play.
The Eagles won game one 2-0 thanks to a gem from pitcher
Ally Moore, but dropped game two by a score of 4-2.
AU will conclude the regular season tomorrow at Oakland City at 3 & 5 PM CST. Asbury will need to win at least one of the two games tomorrow to guarantee a clinched spot into the RSC Championship Tournament.
Game One
*Ally Moore won her 8
th game in the circle as she tossed a complete game shutout en route to an Eagles victory.
*The senior allowed only three hits and struck out three batters in the win.
*Asbury took the lead after four scoreless innings in the bottom of the fifth after
Madilyn Choate and
Chandler Kelly connected on back-to-back doubles.

Taylor Enlow provided a run of insurance in the sixth on a solo homer to centerfield. Enlow has hit a team-high five HR's so far this season.

Madison Moss and
Harley Wagoner also reached on base hits as AU collected five hits in total in the win.
Game Two
*It was a tough start for the Eagles who gave up three runs on six hits in the first frame and found themselves in an early hole.
*AU was shutout in the first five innings of play and found themselves trailing 4-0 after OCU added another run.
*The Eagles got their only runs of the contest in the bottom of the sixth off a two-RBI single from
Abby Fletcher.
*Asbury was held to five hits and went down in order in the seventh as their comeback attempt fell short.
