WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University softball team was back at home for the first time in over a week on Saturday and the Eagles split their doubleheader with Midway University in conference play.
Asbury won game one in 13 innings 3-2 but fell 4-1 in game two.
The Eagles move to 15-21 on the year and stay .500 in league play at 7-7.
Asbury will host IU Southeast on Tuesday for a doubleheader beginning at 4 PM.
Game one
*Asbury broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third as a sacrifice fly from
Taylor Enlow scored
Madilyn Choate for a 1-0 lead.
*Midway responded with two runs on two hits in the top of the fourth to re-take the lead.
*Choate tied the contest up in the bottom of the fifth with a solo homer to centerfield.
*
Ally Moore pitched in relief for Enlow and came up big with eight scoreless innings to record the victory.

Harley Wagoner's RBI single to center scored
Abby Fletcher for the game-winning run in the 13
th. Wagoner led AU with a team-high three hits on the day, while Choate, Enlow, and
Bree Sanders each posted two hits in the win.
Game two
*Jenni Beasley scored the first run of the game off
Taylor Enlow's RBI triple to deep-right center in the bottom of the first.
*Enlow finished with four hits in the double header and notched a double and a triple in game two.
*However, AU would be held scoreless the remainder of the contest despite collecting six hits in the game.
*Midway tied things up in the third off a solo home run and then tacked on three runs in the next half-inning to take a 4-1 lead.
*Along with Enlow,
Bree Sanders and Beasley would collect multi-hit games with two hits each as no other Eagles were able to record a hit.

Abby Ponder got the start and pitched 3.1 innings of work and
McKenzie Meyer pitched 3.2 shutout innings in relief.
