WILMORE, Ky. – Behind another dominant pitching and defensive effort in the field, the Asbury University baseball team swept its Saturday doubleheader with Point Park 3-0 in back-to-back games.
The Eagles improve to 12-3 on the year with the victories and are now 2-1 in River States Conference play.
This marks the first series win against the Pioneers since the 2013 season.

Game one
*The pitching was strong on both sides. The Eagles pitchers struck out six, while Point Park pitchers sat down five.

Alec Lush led things off on the mound for Eagles. The pitcher lasted five and a third innings, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out three.

Jackson Cole would pitch the final three and two thirds innings to earn the win.

Trevor Campbell would score off an error in the bottom of the sixth to give AU a 1-0 lead.

Paul Haupt and
Kaiden Zacharias would connect on RBI singles in the seventh and eighth innings to extend the Asbury lead to 3-0.
*The Eagles collected eight hits as a team.
Garrett McIntire and
Paul Haupt each managed multiple hits.
*Point Park finished with seven hits and left 15 runners on base throughout the game.
Game two
*Tyler Morrison pitched a complete game shutout and struck out six in the victory.
*Morrison threw a gem, allowing just three hits from PPU in the contest.
The Eagles would score two runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth to open up the scoring.
Walker Paris' RBI single scored Campbell for the first run, followed by another RBI single from Zacharias which brought home
Paul Haupt for a 2-0 lead.
*Asbury would add another run of insurance in the bottom of the sixth off an RBI single from Matt Johnson.
