WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University softball team dropped its Saturday doubleheader at home against Thomas More at the Kirkland Complex in non-conference play.
The Eagles lost in 10 innings in game one by a score of 8-4 and fell in game two 12-6. Asbury falls to 6-14 on the season and is 1-7 in home games so far this year.
Game one
*Thomas More jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first two innings of play.
*Trailing 4-2 in the seventh,
Madison Moss hit the game-tying home run on a shot to left to force extra innings.
*After two scoreless frames in extras, TMU added four runs in the 10
th inning after collecting three consecutive doubles for a 8-4 lead.
*Moss led AU with two hits and two RBI, while the Eagles tallied 10 hits altogether in the loss.

Taylor Enlow recorded two hits and
Jenni Beasley and
Olivia Judy each finished with an RBI apiece.
*
Ally Moore got the start in game one and pitched six innings striking out three.
Abby Ponder tossed the remainder of the contest in relief and struck out one.
Game two
*Similar to game one, TMU took an early lead with three runs on four hits in the top of the first.
*Asbury returned the favor with three runs in the bottom of the first to even up the score.
*After
Madison Moss tripled to lead off,
Jenni Beasley's RBI single would reduce the lead down to 3-1.
*
Olivia Judy's two-RBI single later on in the inning scored both Beasley and
Taylor Enlow.
*The Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the third off an RBI from
Bree Sanders for a 4-3 lead.
*With the game knotted up at 4-4 in the fourth, the Eagles would take their largest lead of the day after Beasley and Enlow came up big with RBI singles to make it 6-4 Asbury.
*However, Thomas More would score eight unanswered runs, with three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth.
*Asbury finished with 11 hits as Beasley led the way with a 3-4 effort at the plate. Judy and Moss each collected a multi-hit game in the loss with two hits.
