KOKOMO, Ind. – The Asbury University baseball team extended its winning streak to 10 after a doubleheader sweep at IU Kokomo on Saturday in River States Conference play.
The Eagles dominated game one 14-0 and won game two 2-1 for the series sweep. Asbury improves to 20-3 overall and is 8-1 in River States Conference action.
Game one
*Alec Lush delivered with a great outing on the mound for AU as he struck out six batters in six innings pitched. Lush allowed non runs throughout the game and gave up just two hits.
*
Matthew Baker's two-RBI double marked the first runs of the game as the Eagles took a comfortable 5-0 lead after scoring five runs in the second.
*
CJ Compton would score moments later to push the lead out to 3-0, followed by a two-RBI single from
Garrett McIntire for a 5-0 lead.
*With a 6-0 lead in the fourth, McIntire notched his third RBI of the day on a sac fly.
*
Paul Haupt and
Walker Paris then smacked back-to-back RBI singles for two more runs. Haupt would later score in the inning as the Eagles rolled ahead 10-0.
*AU would score four more runs in the sixth and seventh innings as
Kaden Dugle punched in a run off an RBI double, Matt Johnson drew an RBI bases loaded walk, and
Nick Mackle connected on a two-RBI single for the final runs of the game.
*Asbury produced 10 hits in total with
Walker Paris posting a team-best two hits and two RBI.
Game two
*It was a pitchers' duel in game two with just three runs combined in the game.

Walker Paris scored the first run of the game in the second to give AU a 1-0 edge.
*IU Kokomo tied up the game in the fourth off an RBI single.
*Kokomo had a runner in scoring position in the fifth and sixth inning, but
Tyler Morrison got out of the inning each time unscathed.
*Morrison struck out eight IUK batters in six innings pitched and surrendered only one run. Through the first 23 games of the year, Morrison leads the NAIA in earned run average (minimum 20 IP).
*The contest remained tied up until the top of the eighth as
Garrett McIntire scored the winning run following a sac fly from
Paul Haupt.
*McIntire led the Eagles' bats with two hits, marking his fourth multi-hit game of the season.

Jackson Cole collected the win with two innings of shutout baseball as he allowed no runs or hits to preserve the win and the series sweep.
