Baseball Wins Seventh Straight in 15-1 Rout at Alice Lloyd

PIPPA PASSES, Ky. – The Asbury University baseball team won its seventh straight game on Tuesday afternoon at Alice Lloyd with a convincing 15-1 victory.

The Eagles improve to an impressive 17-3 on the season and have won two straight games by run rule.

Asbury got things started in the first inning as Colton Back hit his first home run of the year out to left field. In the next at-bat, Trevor Campbell hit his second homer of the season to push the lead out to 3-0.

The Eagles put up four runs in the third and sixth inning. In the sixth, Walker Paris, Colton Perkins, and Austin Dick all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Paris got the start on the mound and pitched the Eagles to victory with three shutout innings. The righthander allowed zero runs on two hits and struck out one.

Holten Handel, Justin Manley, and Bobhy Vasquez all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

In total, Asbury recorded 11 hits in the game. Campbell, Paris, and Back each collected multiple hits to the lead AU on the day.

Paris has now collected five straight multi-hit games, while Back picked up his second straight. Additionally, Campbell currently holds a six-game hitting streak.

Dick led AU with four RBI, while Perkins finished with a season-high three RBI.

Asbury returns to action on Friday at IU Kokomo for a three-game series. Game one on Friday is set to begin at 3 PM.
