WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury Men's Basketball team was in the Luce Center for the 3rd consecutive night, this time facing off with a familiar face Boyce College. Asbury came into this game winning their previous two contests, their opponent Boyce came in with a 2-4 record. Neither team started off the game extremely hot, as two and a half minutes into the game we still had not seen a first bucket.
However, when these squads got into a rhythm on offense they didn't look back. Boyce found their offensive stride and would go into the half with a slim 42-39 lead behind Tyler Mollet's 10 points. Asbury also had a strong offensive first half as they were led by Eric Powell, who had 11 at the break.
Moving into the second half the Eagles made essential halftime adjustments that allowed them to slow down the Boyce offense. Boyce would only score 29 2nd half points, compared to their blazing 42 in the first. This Eagle defense was backed up by their confident offense putting up 39 again in half number two. Asbury's 2nd half defense would prove to be enough as they topped Boyce with a final score of 78-71.
This win for Asbury was a special one, as it marked Coach Will Shouse as the winningest Men's Basketball Coach in Asbury history. 223 wins for Coach Shouse in his 14 seasons leading the Eagles, this being a win he will not forget. Coach Shouse has led this team faithfully with love and passion as he continues to pour into the young men that make up this program.

Quote:
"We just played 4 games in 4 days. To go 3-1 and win all of our 3 home games, it says a lot about the group and their mental toughness… (About the record) It is so special to me, as a former player here, assistant coach for 4 years… It is just a special feeling. So many people put so much into this, my players, assistant coaches, administrators, my former coaches, it is not just me obviously."

AU moves to 4-6 as they continue to climb.
