Rio Grande, OH- The Asbury women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie at the University of Rio Grande (4-5-1).
After playing a scoreless first half, Rio posted the first goal of the match taking a 1-0 lead in the second half. Asbury scored the tying goal soon after and the teams ended regulation at 1-1. The contest went into two overtime periods. Both Asbury and Rio Grande attempted shots, but the final scored remained 1-1.
Asbury now holds a record of 3-7-1.
Highlights:
Asbury sophomore Genevieve Hill recorded at team-high eight shots during the game.
Senior Elizabeth Sparks had a total of four shots on goal, assisted by sophomore Caroline Absher's three shots and junior Lisa Nesselroade's two.
