Eagles Win Ray Shouse Memorial Game 95-65 over UC-Clermont

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University men's basketball team collected a 95-65 win at home on Thursday evening over UC Clermont at the Luce Center for the fourth annual Ray Shouse Memorial Game.

With the victory on Thursday night, AU improves to 12-3 on the year and is 8-2 in home contests.

Five Eagles reached double figures scoring in the 30-point blowout win.

Key Stats
*Eric Powell paced the Eagles with a team-high 21 points. Powell knocked down five threes and also added eight rebounds.
*John Shoulders posted 19 points and also hit five three-point field goals in the win.
*Nick Fort scored in double figures for the 15th time this year and also notched his fourth double-double on the year.
*Leander Ridgeway finished with 12 points and four rebounds, while Siah Holified scored 11 points and dished out a team-best seven assists.
*The Eagles shot much better from behind the arc on Thursday, finishing with 13 three-point field goals on the night.
*As a team, Asbury had 17 assists and scored 36 points in the paint.

Highlights
*It was all Asbury throughout the opening half with the Eagles boasting a 20-point lead at 41-21.
*AU hit eight threes in the first half, and John Shoulders led the Eagles with 12 points.
*UC Clermont rallied back into the game, closing the second half on a 13-0 run to make it a 41-34 game at halftime.
*The Eagles regrouped in the second half and used a 16-8 run to take a commanding 64-48 lead.
*A three from senior Ben Okenge in the closing minutes gave the Eagles their largest lead at 30 points.
