Eagles Move to 13-3 with 79-76 Road Victory at Alice Lloyd

Box Score PIPPA PASSES, Ky. – The Asbury University men's basketball team held on for a 79-76 road victory at Alice Lloyd on Saturday afternoon.

Asbury is now 13-3 overall on the year and like the women's team also finish 2-0 on the week.  

AU evens the season series with today's win after falling 82-76 at home in December.

Key Stats
*Leander Ridgeway led Asbury with his third double-double of the season with a team-best 20 points 10 rebounds, and four steals.
*Ridgeway was 10-13 from the foul line and hit the final two free throws for AU with under 10 seconds to play.
*Nick Fort recorded 16 points on 6-11 shooting along with five rebounds, two steals, and a block.
*Both Ridgeway and Fort have scored in double figures in every game they have played this season.
*Eric Powell scored 14 and was perfect from three on 3-3 field goal attempts.
*Siah Holifield finished with nine points, while John Shoulders tallied seven and Dakota Walden had six points respectively.
*The Eagles shot 52 percent from three (9-17) and were 54 percent from the field for the game on 26-48 shooting attempts.
*Asbury was 18-26 from the foul line and forced 16 ALC turnovers.

Highlights
*Trailing 19-18 midway through the first half, the Eagles used an 11-4 run to take a six-point advantage.
*Alice Lloyd tied the game up at 35-35 with four minutes left, but Asbury would remain on top 45-41 at the break.
*A 9-2 run to begin the second half gave Asbury its largest lead of the game at 54-43 following a three from senior Siah Holifield.
*Moments later, ALC rallied back with a 13-2 run to tie up the game for the seventh time up to that point at 56-56.
*Asbury responded with a quick 7-0 run after five consecutive points from Jamiel Goliday and another basket from Holifield.
*Asbury led 77-76 in with 9.2 seconds left as Ridgeway hit two big free throws to extend the lead to three. On the ensuing possession, a three from Alice Lloyd at the buzzer was off the mark.
