Osborne Scores Career-High 27 Points, Women's Hoops Wins Fifth Straight

WILMORE, Ky. – Faith Osborne scored a career-high 27 points and the Asbury University women's basketball team defeated Alice Lloyd 85-77 on Tuesday evening at the Luce Center.

Asbury, who hadn't played a game since Dec. 18 continued their winning ways and extended their winning streak to five, which moves the Eagles to 6-2 overall on the year.

Key Stats
*Osborne led the way with a fantastic shooting display on the night. The sophomore finished 7-11 from three-point territory and was 10-15 from the field for a career-high 27 points.
*Additionally, Osborne's seven threes are the most in a single-game since the 2013 season.
*Jaclynn Ruble added a season-high 20 points on 6-16 shooting. Ruble also recorded six rebounds and two steals.
*Autumn Herriford and Zaria Napier each tabbed nine points apiece. Herriford collected a team-high nine rebounds in the victory.
*Paige Taylor posted eight points and seven boards, while Sarah King dished out a team-high seven assists and scored six points.
*The Eagles knocked down 15 threes altogether and finished with 16 assists as a team.
*Asbury's defense forced 17 turnovers from Alice Lloyd on the night.

Highlights
*It was all Asbury in the opening period as AU ended the quarter on a 19-7 run to lead 28-13.
*The Eagles pushed their lead all the way out to 39-17 in the second period, following a stretch of three straight threes with two from Jacylnn Ruble and one from Faith Osborne.
*ALC would close the quarter on an 11-2 run but the Eagles maintained a 41-28 edge at the break.
*Asbury continued to pile it on in the third quarter and posted its largest lead of the night at 23 points following a layup from Sarah King, which made it 62-39.
*Alice Lloyd would close the quarter on a 10-0 run in the final 2:53. In total, ALC would go on a 23-5 run over the eight minutes of gameplay and cut the lead down to 67-62 in the fourth.
*Herriford killed the momentum with a huge three on the ensuing possession to put the lead back to eight.
*Asbury scored 23 points in the final six minutes as ALC was unable to cut the lead down any closer.

Asbury returns to action tomorrow evening against Rio Grande at the Luce Center. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 PM.
