WILMORE, Ky. – It was a tough day for the AU volleyball team, who fell 3-0 to Brescia on Saturday afternoon at the Luce Center in River States Conference play.
The Bearcats won the match 27-25, 25-16, 25-14. Asbury slips to 2-2 on the year and moves to 0-2 in conference play.
Highlights
*A quick start in the opening set gave Asbury a 18-15 advantage.
*Later in the set, Asbury had a set point following a kill at the net from
Bethany Laue.
*However, Brescia would claim four of the final five points in the set to claim a 1-0 lead.
*In the second set, BU jumped ahead 19-9 and never trailed in the set.
*Brescia finished with six blocks up front along with seven service aces as they won the final frame 25-14.
*AU produced only eight kills total in the second and third sets, while also collecting a season-high 21 errors in the match.
