WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University softball team split its Friday doubleheader with Rochester at home in non-conference play.
The Eagles won game won 14-5 in five innings but fell 5-0 in game two.
Asbury remains .500 on the season and moves to 6-6 overall.
Game one
*It was a slow start for AU, who gave up four runs in the first inning due to defensive miscues.
*The Eagles returned the favor in the bottom of the second with nine runs on seven hits to take a 10-4 advantage.
*With four more runs scored in the third inning, AU increased its lead out to 14-4.
*Asbury collected 14 hits and 11 RBI as a team in the victory.
*Leading the way offensively was
Emily Rogers who finished 2-2 with two doubles and three RBI.

Paige Hill,
Chandler Kelly,
Maddie Burke, and
Harley Wagoner also tallied two hits each. Burke hit her fourth home run of the season and also posted two RBI.
*Hill and Burke both recorded a double apiece additionally.

Ally Moore compiled another win in the circle with five innings pitched as she struck out four batters and allowed only one earned run.
Game two
*Things did not go as well offensively for AU in the second game as Rochester again got out to an early lead after scoring two runs in the second inning.
*Asbury only finished with five hits in the loss and left 10 baserunners stranded throughout the game.
*RU would score one run in the third inning and two more in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.
*The Eagles' best chance to add in runs was in the fourth and fifth innings, but the Eagles came away empty-handed.

Jenni Beasley tacked on two hits to lead the AU offense in the loss.
*Also finishing with one hit each were
McKenzie Meyer,
Paige Hill, and
Chandler Kelly.
