OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Asbury University women's basketball team picked up its 17
th win of the season with a 59-57 road victory at Brescia on Tuesday evening in River States Conference play.
The Eagles overcame a double-digit deficit in the first quarter to complete the comeback.

Asbury moves to 17-8 on the year and also improves to 5-6 in league play, which keeps them in third place in the RSC West standings.

Kelsey Johnson led Asbury in scoring for the second straight game with 15 points. Johnson has scored in double figures in the past three games.

Zaria Napier finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while
Autumn Herriford recorded 11 points and seven boards.

*The Eagles played better in the second period and cut the lead down to just one at 29-28 at the break. Asbury ended the half on a 9-2 run.
*Tied at 31, AU went on a quick 6-0 spurt to take its largest lead of the game in the third quarter. BU tied things up at 39, but a three from Napier gave AU a 42-41 lead heading into the fourth.
* Asbury would never trail again the rest of the way as Herriford and Johnson hit big shots in the closing minutes to keep the Eagles ahead.
*Ruble's free throw with eight seconds left gave AU a 59-57 lead. Solid defense on the final possession kept Brescia from hitting a three at the buzzer for the win.
