WILMORE, Ky. -- The Asbury University men's basketball team fell 96-81 at home to IU Southeast in River States Conference play on Thursday evening.
The Eagles drop to 4-2 on the year and move to 1-2 in league action. The Grenadiers improve to 2-4 on the year with the win.
Jamiel Goliday scored a career-high 28 points in the loss, shooting 10-13 from the floor with seven threes made in the game.
Highlights
*After starting the game out with a commanding 25-12 lead and great three-point shooting, IUS took over the game as they outscored Asbury 39-18 to close the half out.
*Goliday scored 22 points in the first 20 minutes to pace the Eagles' offense with six made threes.
*The Eagles were shooting 8-11 from three for 72 percent in the half before cooling down at 9-17 heading into the locker room.
*The Grenadiers led 51-43 at halftime.
*Asbury rallied and tried to get back into the game as they cut the deficit down to only seven at 55-48 early on in the second half.
*The Grenadiers did not give up the lead and did not allow AU to get any closer as they continued the second half out on another offensive burst as they posted a 20-point advantage, following a 20-7 run for a 75-55 lead with under 11 minutes remaining.
*Southeast shot nearly 50 percent from the floor in the second half while AU was only 10-32 shooting.
Key Stats
*Goliday scored a career-high 28 points on 10-13 shooting, including an impressive 7-9 shooting effort from three.

Eric Powell notched 14 points, while
Leander Ridgeway finished with 12 points, six rebounds, and six assists.

Nick Fort also reached double figures scoring with 11 points on the night along with a team-high eight rebounds.

Dakota Walden added eight points and dished out four assists.
*Turnovers hurt the Eagles, as they committed 21 on the night and were 22-34 from the foul line as a team.

*Asbury tallied 15 assists throughout the contest and collected 39 rebounds.
