Eagles Edged at Home to Alice Lloyd, 82-76

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University men's basketball team fell for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon with an 82-76 loss to Alice Lloyd at the Luce Center.

The Eagles slip to 3-1 on the year and are now 1-1 in River States Conference games this season.

Key Stats
*Alice Lloyd won the rebounding margin 39-29 and scored 12 second chance points. ALC also scored 15 points off turnovers.
*Asbury shot over 50 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes of play, but the Eagles finished just 10-30 shooting in the second half.
*Nick Fort posted his second double-double of the year as he totaled 15 points and 12 rebounds.
*Leander Ridgeway led the Eagles' offense with 19 points along with five rebounds and five assists. Ridgeway also led AU with eight made free throws finishing 8-11 for the day from the line.
*Jamiel Goliday and John Shoulders combined for seven made threes as they finished with 13 and 12 points respectively.
*Asbury was 9-21 from three-point land and finished 19-30 from the foul line.

Highlights
*ALC got off to a hot start and shot over 60 percent from the floor in the first eight minutes and led 19-11.
*The Eagles would go on a 19-7 run over a span of five minutes to take a 30-26 lead.
*Alice Lloyd ended the half on a 13-7 run to lead 47-41 at the break.
*AU came out with great energy on both ends of the floor early on in the second half.
*The Eagles were able to take the lead at 50-49 following a free throw made from Fort.
*Once again, ALC responded with a 14-3 run to take a 63-53 lead.
*After a timeout, Asbury regrouped and retook the lead at 71-70 with five minutes to play.
*ACL rebuilt their lead out to six at 77-71 as the Eagles struggled to score in the closing minutes of the contest.
*AU was held scoreless for over 4 minutes and scored five points in the final 30 seconds before time ran out.
