WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University volleyball team was swept at home on Saturday afternoon at the Luce Center against IU Kokomo in River States Conference play.
It was a tough challenge for AU, who faced the first place and unbeaten IUK Cougars on Saturday. Additionally, Kokomo won the River States Conference Championship last season.
Asbury drops to 4-10 on the season with the loss, while IUK remains undefeated at 15-0 and 13-0 in RSC play.
Highlights
*Asbury played well in the opening set and gave IUK all it could handle.
*The set was tied at 9-9 before Kokomo went on a 6-0 run to take a 15-9 lead.
*Asbury fought back and was able to close the gap to only three points, but the Cougars prevailed in the first set.

*Asbury produced only 11 kills in the final two sets, while IUK tallied 30 kills.
*For the match, IUK finished with 38 kills and 11 service aces, while the Eagles finished with 25 kills as a team.
