OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Asbury University volleyball team fell in five sets at Brescia University on Tuesday evening in River States Conference play.
The Eagles lost the match 25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 15-7 as they slip to 4-11 on the year.
Down two sets to none, Asbury rallied and fought their way back into the match with solid play in the third and fourth sets, but were unable to complete the comeback as they dropped the fifth and final set 15-7.
For the match, AU produced 40 kills and held a hitting percentage of .081. Brescia tallied 49 kills as a team and completed the contest with 16 service aces.
Asbury recorded 11 blocks as team as both
Bethany Laue and
Bethany Fye each registered four blocks apiece.
