CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The Asbury University men's soccer team won its third straight game on Saturday, and is off to its best start through seven games since 2011.
The Eagles defeated Ohio Christian 6-2 in Circleville, Ohio in River States Conference action.
AU improves to 5-1-1 on the season and also move to 4-1-1 in conference play.
Isaiah Ireton notched his first career hat-trick and
Trevor Matthews provided a career-high three assists in the win.
Highlights
*After neither team could find the back of the net 30 minutes into play,
Brody Smith put the Eagles ahead 1-0 in the 31
st minute on an unassisted goal.
*The Eagles then scored two goals in 55 seconds as Isiah Ireton and
Owen Sigey each scored to make it a 3-0 lead for AU.
*In the second half, the Eagles began right where they left off as Ireton added his second goal of the day in the 53
rd minute.
*Moments later, Ireton added his third score for his first career hat-trick as an Eagle.

Sam Henderson scored the final goal for Asbury in the 77
th minute to keep lead in AU's favor for good.
