PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Asbury University women's soccer team bounced back on Saturday afternoon with a big 2-0 shutout victory at Point Park in River States Conference play.
The Eagles completed their road trip in Pittsburgh on a strong note, defeating the first-place Pioneers.
Asbury collected its sixth shutout of the year and improves to 6-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in RSC action.
Highlights
*After a scoreless first half,
Elizabeth Sparks put the Eagles on the board with a goal in the 57
th minute of play.
Genevieve Hill provided the assist on the score.
*With a 1-0 advantage, AU added another goal of insurance as
Caroline Absher found the back of the net five minutes later to put the game out of reach.
*Point Park was held to only two shots on goal throughout the course of the match and finished with only four shot attempts in the final 25 minutes of regulation.
