PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Asbury University men's soccer team won its second straight game with an 8-0 shutout victory at Carlow on Thursday afternoon.
The Eagles improve to 4-1-1 on the year and also jump ahead to 3-1-1 in RSC play.
Senior
Owen Sigey logged his first career hat-trick as the Eagles scored a season-high eight goals.
In the past two meetings, AU has out-scored Carlow 19-0 and in its past two contests combined the Eagles have out-scored its opponent 10-0.
Highlights
*The scoring got started quickly as
Trevor Matthews notched his first goal of the year in the opening minutes of the game for a 1-0 AU lead.
Owen Sigey provided the assist on the goal scored.

Micah Schneider scored in the 10
th minute to make it 2-0 Asbury, marking his second goal scored on the season.
*10 minutes later,
Fionn McCartan added another goal to make it 3-0 Eagles halfway through the first half.

Owen Sigey would score twice in the final five minutes of the half off assists from
Hugo Manjarrez and
Isaac Amaya to give the Eagles a comfortable 5-0 lead.
*In the second half, it was still all Asbury. The Eagles scored their sixth goal of the contest in the 70
th minute as Manjarrez scored his first of the season.
*Sigey reached a hat-trick in the 83
rd minute on an unassisted goal, while
Cade Good scored the final goal of the contest moments later.

*Asbury out-shot Carlow 22-7 and placed 13 shots on goal.

Seth Good recorded three saves as AU posted its third shutout of the season.
*Schneider led the way with a team-high five shots, while all four of Sigey's shots landed on goal. Additionally, Sigey posted seven points individually with three goals and an assist.
