Women's Soccer Wins Fifth Straight, Shutout IU Kokomo 5-0 on Senior Day

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University women's soccer team kept its winning streak rolling on Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles shutout IU Kokomo 5-0 at home on Senior Day.
 
AU moves to 5-3-1 on the year and is now 4-1-1 in River States Conference play. The Cougars drop to 4-7-1 on the season.

Today's win marks the fourth shutout victory of the year for Asbury and marks the fifth game this season where they have not allowed a goal.
 
Before the game, seniors Jordan Holt, Paige Miller, Camryn Savage, and Jamie Steele were recognized.
 
Highlights
*Jordan Holt put AU on the board first with a goal in the 26th minute to take the early 1-0 lead.
*Minutes later, Genevieve Hill added another goal to extend the lead out to 2-0. Hill scored on a put-back shot from Amber McIntosh, which landed off the crossbar.
*Asbury led 2-0 at halftime and had things under control offensively and defensively.
*The Eagles did not slow down in the second half as they tacked on three more goals to put the match out of reach.
*Caroline Absher scored her sixth goal of the season on a PK eight minutes into the second half.
*Elizabeth Sparks would add the final two goals to preserve the win and complete the shutout.
*Amber McIntosh provided the assist on the final goal.
 
Key Stats
*AU had plenty of good looks all afternoon and finished the contest with 14 shots, nine of which landed on goal.
*Elizabeth Sparks' two goals scored today give her five goals on the year and three goals scored this week.
*Camryn Savage and Jamie Steele each played 45 minutes apiece in goal on Saturday.
*Jordan Holt & Genevieve Hill both have recorded three goals scored on the year.
 
Next Up
Asbury will travel to Pittsburgh for a River States Conference game against Carlow on Thursday as they go for their sixth straight win.
