BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Asbury University men's basketball traveled to Beckley, West Virginia to take on West Virginia Tech on Saturday. The Eagles dropped their eighth conference game of the season, with WVU Tech winning 99-83.

AU falls to 7-15 (1-8, RSC) on the year. Additionally, Asbury drops its second consecutive contest. The Eagles are now 3-8 in road matchups this season.
 
WVU Tech improves to 14-7 on the year and 9-1 in league play.

*The Eagles and the Golden Bears kept it close for most of the first half, but WVU Tech ended the half on an 11-2 run to secure a 44-35 halftime lead.
 
*AU was in a deep hole starting the second half, and their fouls did little to help them out.
 
*They cut the deficit to as few as six points, but in the closing moments of the game they let the lead slip.
 
*Asbury was charged with 27 fouls, and WVU Tech shot made 78% of their free throws on 28-36 shooting attempts. Five Eagles ended the game with four or more fouls.

*Leander Ridgeway led the Eagles in points with 26 and rebounds with 10 for the double-double. He also had four assists. Ridgeway has posted six double-doubles this season.
 
*Eric Powell also had a good day offensively, scoring 22 points, and adding two rebounds and two assists.
 
*Desmond Duke scored 11 points and tied Ridgeway for the team lead in assists with four.
 
*Siah Holifield also scored double-digit points with 10 and collected five rebounds.
 
*Caleb Bonny had six points, Malcolm Murphy had four points, and Blaine May and TJ Robinson both had two.
 
*AU shot 49 percent from the field and scored 44 points inside the paint.
 
*WVU Tech scored 15 points off of turnovers. The Eagles committed 16 in the loss.
